It was a year ago today that I started the Phil Hendrie Show Flashback Podcast and I wanted to thank everyone for listening.
Some facts about the podcast.
There were 247 episodes in the first year.
The Top 5 Characters in terms of the number of times they were featured are:
David G. Hall (32 times)
Bobbie Dooley (31 times)
Bud Dickman (26 times)
Harvey Wireman (20 times)
Lloyd Bonafide (18 times)
The podcast has been download over 200,000 times since I started trying to track it. The number only includes the iTunes downloads so its probably a lot higher.
It’s getting over 2200 downloads a day right now on iTunes.
Again, thanks for listening and feel free to make suggestions.
I’m working on a few enhancements right now and trying to put together one really cool feature. So stay tuned.
Phil and his producer have set up an official group on Facebook. They are asking people what their favorite parts of the new show are. Now is the time to let them know. I get the impression that they really are interested in improving the show.
This is almost like voting. If you don’t go over there and let them know what you think, then you don’t get to complain about the new show anymore.
It’s been just over a year since Phil Hendrie returned to the air and in that time he has built the show to 81 affiliates. That is an impressive number considering the show debuted on only a handful of stations and there has been very little promotion.
See all the stations here, there is also a link to free streaming sites.
A new feature has been launched at newphilhendrieshow.com. Each day there is a blog post with a list of all the character appearances that occurred on that day throughout the years on the Phil Hendrie Show. There is also an mp3 podcast of highlights of that day. You can read the blog and download the mp3s at newphilhendrieshow.com/flashback
Make sure you sign up for a backstage pass on the official site, so you can listen to the complete shows.
The New Phil Hendrie Show site has been updated with a new look and several new features. There will be even more added in the next few days, so stay tuned.
CBS has greenlit a pilot based on the comedy of Mike Birbiglia. The pilot is called “Mike Birbiglia’s Secret Public Journal”. Phil Hendrie will play Mike’s Doctor.
From Hollywood Reporter
“Actor and radio host Hendrie will play his gruff doctor.”
I just received confirmation from TRN that Phil will be back on the air in Los Angeles tonight on KTLK 1150. The show will be carried live. There is a rumor that Phil will be doing some exclusive content for KTLK, but I can’t confirm that at this time.
UPDATE: Phil is doing an extra hour for L.A. This is good news for people in the LA area and a big win for Phil Hendrie.
